Tis the Season of Hibernation

My body is in hibernation mode. I think I accidentally accepted a full time job that secretly adds on twenty extra required hours of week, and that job is sleeping. Between work and work, I’m simply exhausted, and the thought of running errands makes me hide further under my blankets. However, I have been thoroughly loving the cold. Something about this crispy weather we’re experiencing in NE Ohio revitalizes my energy, especially when it is snowing. I want to go outside and play in it. Not enough people just play in the snow anymore, and it shows.
However, lacking energy most days has slowed down the amount of work I am putting into advertising my book. A Journey Paved in Shadows has been out for release for over one month now, and I am astonished by how much love and support its been shown already. If 2024 has taught me anything, it’s that I don’t want to stop with only publishing a single book. Of course, I’m writing more and I will publish more (more on that to come soon!), but an idea has been itching my brain for a while now. I love writing, and I have many a story to tell, but creating is the driving force for my escapades. I want to direct my efforts this year, and going forward in life, toward uplifting my creativity. Whether it be learning new mediums to express myself through (I’m still getting the hand of whittling), or furthering the outreach of my art to share with others. I have a few ideas on how to accomplish this, but nothing is certain yet. I don’t see myself becoming a full-fledge content creator anytime soon, but I’m seeking steps in the right direction. I realize how vague that sounds, and it’s purely because I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. But while I’m in hibernation mode this season, I figure now is the best time to start brainstorming.
So in the meantime, I will continue learning new ways to promote A Journey Paved in Shadows, working on the sequel, painting my canvases, and taking pictures when the sky is randomly stunning. After all, my ultimate desire is to share with others how beautiful this world is from my perspective. Perhaps this wasn’t the most exciting update, but it’s letting you know more exciting things are to come.
